311chaos asked:

Why is everything worth the same amount? This app is worthless if my Garage Band is worth the same as the #1 song in the iTunes app store. What is going on? Is this a bug?

We’re rolling out a server update tonight that will readjust the song prices to incorporate real world popularity.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hey everyone, I’m Shalin. To support the sheer firepower that my co-founders Mehul and Vivek have brought to the table, I am our venture’s Waterboy. I try to keep NoiseToys nourished with happy users, scalable servers, and polished products.

It’s been a busy last few weeks, and now it’s time to have some fun. TechCrunch selected NoiseToys to join the Startup Battlefield at Disrupt. We will be presenting along with some of the world’s most disruptive startups. I am proud to say that we will be launching our first iPhone app at this event.

Our mission is to turn every music listener into a music influencer.

And we hope you’ll support us on this exciting journey.

Stay tuned for more details!

Hi There!

I just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone who’s found their way to our site.   We’ve been busy at work preparing to launch our first product and we’re really excited to get it out to all of you.

Just a quick note about me:  I’m Vivek, the company’s official music guy.  Before leaving the wonderful world of a stable salary, I was at Topspin Media building marketing tools for artists; before that I actually had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity composing music in India with Slumdog Millionaire composer AR Rahman.  Both of these were amazing experiences that taught me a lot about the world of music, from making music as an artist to promoting music as a marketer.

Of the three of us I’m actually still based out West (on the better side of the country).  When I’m not in front of the computer working away, I actually love composing music…I’m trying to cut an album in my spare time (which unfortunately means that my album is currently on hold indefinitely).  I like to spend as much time as possible in culinary adventures:  current deadly sins include chocolate chip cookies at The Grove, every sandwich at Ike’s Place, and the chile relleno burrito at Pancho Villa.  Good music + good food = good times.

Howdy!

Welcome to the official NoiseToys company line..err..blog! Our goal is to give ya’ll a little insight into the plans, events, and general mayhem around our little company and the wonderfully strange team behind it.

I’ll start with a quick background on myself (I’ll let the other guys introduce themselves to you in their own posts.) I’m Mehul, our resident geek and iPhone guy. Before taking the plunge I was working at Apple in the Core Audio team, working mainly on iPhone game audio. NDAs prevent me from saying much more without them taking my family to a CIA black site, but suffice to say it was a good time and a great learning experience. Before that I was in school at Stanford, and before that I spent most of my time in timeout for not eating my peas.

Aside from work (if there is such a thing) I like to spend my time exploring the city (Shalin and I just moved out to NYC), cooking (first rule of a bootstrapped New York startup: eat at restaurants or rent: choose one), playing guitar and singing (awesomely in Rock Band, poorly in real life.) Also, I’m always looking for new places to hear great music in the city, so if you have any lemme know!
